As a 2001 graduate of Freedom High School, Woodley attended Appalachian State University with hopes of furthering his academic and athletic career. After a crushing triad accident, tearing the three main ligaments in his knee, his dreams of being a college athlete were suspended. Woodley's love of sports began as a young child at the local recreation center and continued throughout his teenage years with his participation on school teams and through AAU. He had the privilege of being one of only ten athletes chosen from NC to have a chance to represent NC basketball on a national stage in Madison, Wisconsin his junior year of high school. Although Woodley was unable to see the positive in his injury at the time, it was through the extensive recovery process with his knee that he discovered his life's calling. He was able to experience the gains first hand of working towards a goal as he progressed and transformed back into a healthy, active lifestyle. Now, after graduating from Caldwell Community College as a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, Woodley is helping people achieve success of their own. His work as a trainer at APL is an opportunity for him to encourage others to accomplish their goals.
